No words – just numbers and recipes (WIAW)

Breakfast: Banana strawberry cheese cake oats topped with thick yogurt and a strawberry.

The sepia coloring is a coverup for bad presentation 😉

Flavor combination: 3

Craving satiation: 4

Overall verdict: Not the most exiting of breakfast

Snack: Mixed cereal with nuts

Flavor combination : 8

Craving satiation :10

Overall verdict – sometimes you just need some crunchy carbs to munch on

Lunch: Sunny side up egg with Jess’s oatmeal/cornmeal pancake with a sunny side up egg and veggies (x2)

Flavor combination: 8

Craving satiation: 10

Overall verdict – Jess’s pancakes are amazing!

Afternoon snack:

Crackers and spreads (green x2 – white bean and pea spread, brownish – peanut butter date)

Flavor:10

Craving satiation: 10

Overall verdict – the pea spread is awesome (peanut-date butter goes without saying), Although what I love most about it is the amazing green color – the flavor is pretty good as well 😉

Summer time pea spread

½ cup already cooked white beans

¾ cup peas (I used frozen)

a dash or salt

a squeeze of lemon juice

2 tsp dried parsley

a bit of reserved bean liquid (according to texture preference)

Blend and enjoy

Easy right? But this flavor combination is such a winner that even my younger brothers and sisters asked for it on their sandwiches instead of cheese (yes it was a proud moment for me :P)

And while we’re already here, lets have a go at another green spread – sunflower broccoli lentil spread a.ka

Creamy sunflower spread

½ cup roasted sunflower seeds

½  cup cooked lentils

1 cup chopped and lightly steamed broccoli floweretts

salt other seasonings to taste

Process sunflower seeds till they start morphing into a nut butter. You’ll know this is happening the oils start separating. Then add in lentils. Process for a few minutes and add broccoli. Keep blending (add a little water if necessary) until the mixture reaches desired consistency

Now, let’s move onto dinner: Curried Millet and white bean warm salad with broccoli, raisins, slivered toasted almonds and a dollop of mango chutney

Flavvor : 9

Craving satiation: 7

Overall assessment – sometimes leftovers (white beans and millet) can be made into something amazing

Night snackies:

Tiny apple, a square of dark chocolate and a few nuts

Overall assessment : You can’t really go wrong with any of the above 😉

  1. I love the sunflower spread!!!! And you know how I like curried millet 🙂
And I also love how you “score” your meals:))

  2. Pea spread? I so could eat some of that right now! If it tastes anything like pea soup (?) I’d eat the stuff up before you could blink! Such a good idea! 🙂

Love all your eats! Your oats look like they looked very pretty in colour too! Although, there is something so elegant about sepia too! Can’t go wrong with cheesecake oats! 🙂

    Have a great day! xxx
